Don’t be afraid of the dark.
I think its common for us humans to fear the dark inner spaces when we can’t really see our way through. Life gives us plenty of opportunities to be plunged into the dark deep end of pain. I feel like a seasoned veteran of the suffering path. It might sound corny, but the heart is the light that guides our way through the darkness. Every time difficulty, loss, and upheaval have visited me, I have become more intimate with my heart. It has always helped me find the sweetness of my suffering, the blessing in the hardship.
It’s not an easy path nor a particularly flowery journey. But it is fruitful and completely transformative at a microcosmic level. I’ve always believed the end to the suffering that seems to engulf our world is the grace we develop as we meet our own suffering with our hearts. Once you’ve felt that level of honor for and intimacy with your own suffering, you will never take another’s for granted.
To that end, Sweet Suffering is an exploration of human pain and life’s sweetness, and their integration within. You'll find writings from my own heart's journey, as well as reflections, guidance, wisdom, and light only made possible by touching a depth of feeling within these inextricably linked poles. My hope is that this space is an opportunity to feel how these very human experiences connect us to our own hearts and to one another's. May it be a torch for the soul to find its way fully into the human heart.
I’m so appreciative you’re here and I’m excited to be in communion with you at a heart level.
