This month I pulled a card for a significant astrological transit occurring in each week. I’ve added a little guidance from the Tarot for navigating each of those transits. If you like this addition or want me to include more astrology please drop me a comment to let me know.
May 1st-4th:
Things are starting to make sense in a way that’s bringing an end to a period of anxiety, stress, or mental anguish. You might be going through a painful ending or hitting the end of the road with something or someone in your life. The suffering has not been in vain. There is a great deal of spiritual wisdom you are gaining through this deep transformation. And while you may have been despairing, you have also been transforming. The Ten of Swords is that final stretch, the part of the long road in which you finally surrender to what is trying to happen for you. What’s waiting for you on the other side is a softening into receptivity and a knowing of your nature as loved, worthy, and abundant. On the other side is also a time of slowing down to enjoy life’s pleasures again. Keep your inner eye focused on the spiritual lessons, wisdom, and knowledge available to you as you go through this transformation.
Astrological Transit Highlight for the Week:
Pluto goes retrograde May 4th until October 13, 2025. As Pluto begins it’s move backward in Aquarius, it may feel as if you are trapped in confusion and your challenges are being magnified. Try to remember that this is largely a perspective issue, as are all challenges. The confusion will give way as you use this time to look within and revisit any of your self-sabotaging tendencies, shadow parts, or need for control. Pluto is the planet of powerful transformations and death/rebirth cycles. Things may slow down in terms of destruction or dissolution in your life, however it could feel like that dissolving is happening within. You can harness Pluto’s power of transformation by seeking the Truth within. Not your truth or facts, but Truth with a capital T. Spiritual truth and wisdom is what you’re seeking here. The truth of who you are at your core. The Eight of Swords calls us to look inward to free ourselves of the prisons of our own making in our minds. We can set ourselves free by shining the light on the shadows and asking on high for the Truth.
Week of May 5th-11th:
This week things are slowing down in preparation for a new beginning. It could feel as if things are not going your way and you aren’t able to move forward in any kind of logical way. You might feel impatient, struggling to commit to what it takes to see things to fruition. The energy of this week might have you looking for an easy way to the end goal without the hard work. This reading warns us again to be careful about those shadow tendencies as they may want you to give up on your dreams just before that new reality gets birthed for you. This is a time to trust in new beginnings and in potential realities even as things look to be regressing.
Astrological Transit Highlight for the Week:
Mercury enters Taurus on May 10th giving you a chance to slow down mentally and get clear about the intentions of your heart. The Queen of Swords is the archetype of clarity and discernment in her dealings. She is also ready to defend her boundaries and thus create security and stability for herself. She is about being realistic and being smart. Mercury, the planet that rules the way we receive, process, and relay information is entering the sign (Taurus) of calm, grounding, stability, security, abundance, nature/earth, and the Divine Mother. The reading for this transit is really about mind over matter. Decide what you are creating from the depth of your heart and spirit. Decide to create what is most authentic to you and your desires. Listen deeply for what that is and make those decisions and intentions during the period from May 10th-May 25th.
Week of May 12th-18th:
Generosity of spirit is the theme for this week. To me, it seems you are being guided and supported by the unseen in material and immaterial ways. You can return that generosity by fully giving yourself to your journey and mission. Spend time in quiet receptivity and open to the inspiration, intuition, messages, love, and guidance from the other side. Then set out, with an open heart and a clear mind, to follow that guidance. It requires surrender of your limited beliefs of what’s possible, as well as a belief that every potential exists in the Universe and nothing is off limits or out of reach. Believe like the fool and that courage of open heart and beginner’s mind will get you far. Take a chance on something this week, but not until you have consulted your inner knowing.
Astrological Transit Highlight for the Week:
We start this week with the Scorpio full moon making an opposition to the Sun in Taurus. We have this Six of Pentacles show up again coupled with the Six of Swords. These cards represent the changes you are going through that are coming to fruition under the full moon. Go back two weeks ago to the new moon and what you were asking for to see where this might show up in your life. Remember that Scorpio is about going to the depths of something, and also about death and rebirth cycles. These sixes show us what we are letting go of in order to come more into balance and harmony. The opposition of the Moon in Scorpio and the Sun in Taurus is calling us to work with how to balance this tension to create more harmony in these opposing poles. How you relate to give and take in relationships may be undergoing a transformation so you can usher in more balanced and reciprocal relationships. You may be saying goodbye to some relationships or dynamics within yourself or with others. It may be uncomfortable but the Six of Swords tells us you are moving on to more harmonious relationships or even to inner harmony. The full moon is a shedding of what has accumulated and it is also a fulfillment of vision.
Week of May 19th-25th:
The High Priestess joins us again this week, letting us know the importance of staying grounded in our inner knowing and the spiritual knowledge and wisdom granted to us through our initiations and our quiet receptivity. You are being called to clear away the stagnant energies of material possessions, unfulfilling relationships, and mental and emotional clutter. The weight of holding on to what is dead does not support the emergence of your power. Energy must flow within the container of our being and our life. However you are impeding that flow must be looked at now and allowed to die. Do this consciously and it won’t be done for you in ways that could be more difficult. Close things out with others, resolve unresolved issues, process emotions that you haven’t faced, clean and declutter your living space, examine your belief systems and whether you are holding on to outdated and damaging modes of perception, let people leave, etc. Stop hoarding anything. This week is a powerful call to action in this regard with the Death card and the Four of Pentacles together. And it is a call from Spirit to make these changes now. As long as you don’t do this, your personal power is being held hostage. Your power lies in opening rather than contracting through holding on. Heed this message.
Astrological Transit Highlight for the Week:
The Sun enters Gemini on May 20th. Once you’ve decluttered your life, the way is clear for you to see the opportunities that have been waiting for you. With the spirit of Gemini on your side, it is time to explore and see what adventures await. Allow your mind to wonder and wander with avenues to fulfill your heart’s desires. Its time to get excited about life and all there is to know and understand about it. This could literally be exploring new places or it could be exploring new relationships. Be curious and be led by your excitement.
Saturn enters Aries May 24th where it will stay until April 13, 2028. The Strength and King of Wands cards are telling you to take bold action from your firmly and hard won place of knowing who you are. Everything you’ve been through has shown you that you have what it takes. Saturn is asking you to now take disciplined and determined but bold action. It will require courage to tame your fears and remember who you really are. Check to see where Aries falls in your chart to see what area of your life this would apply to. For me it is my 10th house of mission, service, dharma, and being visible. I have been feeling a build up toward this which is why I have been pushing myself to be more visible and to share what lives inside of me. If you don’t know how to find which house Aries rules in your chart, send me a message and I will help you find it. In any case, now is the time as everything is supporting you.
May 26th-31st:
The month closes out with a greater sense of balance and embodiment of both stability/success and nurturing yourself and life. Whatever has taken flight through the earlier weeks of the month need integration and balance now. There is time for some introspection, reflection, and rest. But the caution here is not to stay there so long that you miss opportunities being offered to you. It is a good time to give thanks and be in a state of gratitude for all that has occurred and all the ways you’ve been helped. Taking a pause to do so will create a readiness to go even further.
Astrological Transit Highlight for the Week:
The Gemini new moon occurs on May 26th. Gemini gives us vision and ideas we really want to communicate or express out into the world. The Hierophant guides us to ground ourselves with a plan and structure that will ensure success. It also warns us of being too rigid around how things will happen. A new moon is a chance to plant intentions and ideas in the fertile void. Then listen for how to create a plan to bring it to fruition. Sometimes it is more about planting yourself within the structure of your spiritual practice that allows something to come into form. It is through your deep listening that you can do your part.
With all transits, its helpful to see what house of your natal chart is ruled by that sign. You can pull up your chart on various sites or apps, enter your birth information and see your chart.
